Hi, I'm Tracy and I'm a photographic storyteller in the Bay Area! I love capturing the best in people and moments of shared experiences. I have been a Art, Drama, & Photography teacher for over 12 years, teaching the arts throughout Northern California public schools, Civic Arts in Walnut Creek, San Francisco Shakespeare Festival, Bay Area Children's Theatre, and privately. LET'S PLAY! ART & DRAMA

Come join us for a a fun themed Art & Drama day where play is important, creativity will be sparked, it's okay to get messy, friendships are made, and stories are imagined and created!

Each class begins with free art, then transitions into a focused project of the day, lunch/story time, open play, fun drama games, acting out a story, and ends with a popsicle with friends.

This class is open to kids ages 4-12.  Class size is limited.  Discounts AND added class time if you enroll by the session...ask Tracy.  Visions Vendor!

Hey Folks, 

I'm changing things around a bit to make classes even better this year.  Individual Friday themed morning classes are listed below by the day and are from 10am-1pm.  If you would like to enroll by the session as a Member, students get an extra hour of "stay and play" from 1-2pm at no extra charge.  I'm also adding two Maker Space courses on Fridays from 2-5pm starting with Session #1: 9/2/16-10/28/16 and Session #2: 11/4/16-12/23/16.

SEPTEMBER 9TH 2016 - WALDORF INSPIRED: MAKE YOUR OWN KNITTING CASTLE & KNIT!

Come one, come all to a knit-tastic kick off to our Fall classes as we celebrate the art of knitting!  Students will create an old fashioned knitting castle to begin their knitted adventure with a variety of colorful threads.  Knitting is highly meditative and a great activity for hands of all ages to work on fine motor skills.  


We will end our day with drama games that encourage team work and then enjoy organic popsicles together.

SEPTEMBER 23RD 2016 - ALEXANDER CALDER INSPIRED WIRE ART


Let's dive into the world of famous American sculptor Alexander Calder who originated the mobile as well as intricate wire art that look like drawings in space.  Wildly imaginative and playful, Calder will ignite our imaginations as we attempt his style of sculpture.

We will end our day with drama games that encourage team work and then enjoy organic popsicles together.

SEPTEMBER 30TH 2016 - SEW A BUTTON TREE

Did you know buttons have been used since the 13th century?!  Do you know how to sew a button?  Let's sew a beautiful nature landscape by exercising our fine motor skills as we sew a magical button tree!  After we finish our tree, let's embellish with other things we love in nature using these funny and useful things we call buttons!

We will end our day with drama games that encourage team work and then enjoy organic popsicles together.

OCTOBER 7TH 2016 - SCULPTURE WITH WORLD ANIMAL DAY


Let's celebrate all the animals in the world as we read, discuss, share, and do a variety of artwork around our favorite animals.  Come prepared to talk and share about any animal of your choosing in this show and tell style day!

OCTOBER 14TH 2016 - ANDY WARHOL INSPIRED POP ART


Let's get to know the iconic Andy Warhol, an American artist who was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art.  Students will not only explore Warhol's bright and vivid art, but his equally colorful life.  Warhol loved to explore the relationship between artistic expression, celebrity culture and advertisement that flourished in the 1960s and was renowned for being a controversial artist.  Warhol's art encompassed many forms of media, including hand drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, silk screening, sculpture, film, and music…an amazing example of expressing one's self through various forms.

We will end our day with drama games that encourage team work and then enjoy organic popsicles together.

OCTOBER 21ST 2016 - BLOOD...WHAT IS IT?  A SENSORY EXPLORATION

Have you ever wondered what blood is?  What's it made up of?  What function does it have...why do our bodies depend on it so much?  Why do we bleed when we get a cut and how does our blood help heal us when we do?  Come join us for a sensory experience as we learn some really amazing facts about our bodies and that red stuff known as blood!


We will end our day with drama games that encourage team work and then enjoy organic popsicles together.

OCTOBER 28TH 2016 - SEWING HALLOWEENIE STUFFIES


Trick?  Or treat?  Let's have a lot of silly creative fun as we dismember and reinvent some cute and strange Halloweenie stuffed creatures!  What would a teddy bear mixed with a duck mixed with a unicorn look like?  Come find out where students choose from a variety of stuffed toys to make a memorable fluffed stufffy.  We may also have some other fun Halloween free art this day too!

We will end our day with drama games that encourage team work and then enjoy organic popsicles together.

KIDS THAT CODE! THE ART OF BUILDING YOUR OWN VIDEO GAME!
Session #1: September 23rd-November 18th $275 (6 Fridays)
Fridays from 3-5pm

Do you love playing video games? Ever dream about making your own video game worlds for you and others to enjoy?! What is it like to turn our video game dreams into a coded reality? These are the fun and challenging questions we will aim to answer in this week filled with coding challenges for coders of any experience level using programming adventures like Scratch and Tynker, along with Python for more seasoned coders, to create and share our ideas while learning the basics of coding. Students will create their own Scratch and Tynker accounts which will be shared during a special Visual Art Maker Premiere (VAMP!) night in October where friends and family will be able to play the games these young coders create. Kids will love being able to code while also being able to take breaks to do free art and play outside or jump on an outdoor trampoline. Tracy will help students focus on a sense of connection and community where kids have the tools not only to complete their projects but also communicate their ideas to peers in a collaborative way. Coder Ryan Ramsey will also be co-teaching this class with Tracy.
Class will be held in Lafayette, CA.  Geared for ages 7-15
Cost $275 or $50 per individual class
Students will need to bring a healthy snack and water.

NOVEMBER 4TH 2016 - EARTHWORM HOTEL

Ever wondered about the creatures who live under our feet?  What secret worlds exist in the ground?  Why are they there and what do they do?  Much like human engineers, Earthworms change the structure of their environment.  Let's spend the day exploring these fantastically important creatures and build our own layered earthworm "hotel" that we can take home and watch to investigate just what these creatures do and how they live.
We will end our day with drama games that encourage team work and then enjoy organic popsicles together.

NOVEMBER 11TH 2016 - EXPLORING COLORS WITH RAINBOW SCIENCE

Let's explore the science of making colors as we try out the famous "walking color water" experiment.  Also on hand will be a acid and base hidden color experiment with fun chemical reactions to watch froth with color!  Students will walk away with a special painting they create as we talk about primary and secondary colors.


We will end our day with drama games that encourage team work and then enjoy organic popsicles together.

NOVEMBER 18TH 2016 - NATURAL BEESWAX CANDLE DIPPING


Let's try out our pioneer skills as we hand dip our own beeswax candles!  Students will love the meditative process of adding layer upon layer as they dip their wick into beeswax, eventually creating a beautiful candle to take home.  Natural beeswax has many health benefits like cleaning the air as it burns and creating positive ions.  Let's give thanks to the bees for all they do by discussing how the bees create this amazing wax that is used in so many ways in our daily lives.


We will end our day with drama games that encourage team work and then enjoy organic popsicles together.

OCTOBER 14TH 2016 - ANDY WARHOL INSPIRED POP ART


Let's get to know the iconic Andy Warhol, an American artist who was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art.  Students will not only explore Warhol's bright and vivid art, but his equally colorful life.  Warhol loved to explore the relationship between artistic expression, celebrity culture and advertisement that flourished in the 1960s and was renowned for being a controversial artist.  Warhol's art encompassed many forms of media, including hand drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, silk screening, sculpture, film, and music…an amazing example of expressing one's self through various forms.

OCTOBER 21ST 2016 - BLOOD...WHAT IS IT?  A SENSORY EXPLORATION

Have you ever wondered what blood is?  What's it made up of?  What function does it have...why do our bodies depend on it so much?  Why do we bleed when we get a cut and how does our blood help heal us when we do?  Come join us for a sensory experience as we learn some really amazing facts about our bodies and that red stuff known as blood!

OCTOBER 28TH 2016 - SEWING HALLOWEENIE STUFFIES

Trick?  Or treat?  Let's have a lot of silly creative fun as we dismember and reinvent some cute and strange Halloweenie stuffed creatures!  What would a teddy bear mixed with a duck mixed with a unicorn look like?  Come find out where students choose from a variety of stuffed toys to make a memorable fluffed stufffy.  We may also have some other fun Halloween free art this day too!

Imagine a space where your student can learn a variety of skills deeply guided by their interest.  Join us for this 8 week course in exploring 3 different subjects where your student learns the difference between being a consumer and a maker, truly designing their own education in these three topics.  Students will hone in on which subject interests them the most and develop projects organically from that interest in any of the mediums from learning coding skills as they design their own video game OR making their own stop motion or claymation movie OR working on their fine motor skills through sewing a variety of Waldorf inspired creations.

NOVEMBER 4TH 2016 - EARTHWORM HOTEL

Ever wondered about the creatures who live under our feet?  What secret worlds exist in the ground?  Why are they there and what do they do?  Much like human engineers, Earthworms change the structure of their environment.  Let's spend the day exploring these fantastically important creatures and build our own layered earthworm "hotel" that we can take home and watch to investigate just what these creatures do and how they live.

NOVEMBER 11TH 2016 - EXPLORING COLORS WITH RAINBOW SCIENCE

Let's explore the science of making colors as we try out the famous "walking color water" experiment.  Also on hand will be a acid and base hidden color experiment with fun chemical reactions to watch froth with color!  Students will walk away with a special painting they create as we talk about primary and secondary colors.

NOVEMBER 18TH 2016 - NATURAL BEESWAX CANDLE DIPPING


Let's try out our pioneer skills as we hand dip our own beeswax candles!  Students will love the meditative process of adding layer upon layer as they dip their wick into beeswax, eventually creating a beautiful candle to take home.  Natural beeswax has many health benefits like cleaning the air as it burns and creating positive ions.  Let's give thanks to the bees for all they do by discussing how the bees create this amazing wax that is used in so many ways in our daily lives.
