Hi, I'm Tracy and I'm a photographic storyteller in the Bay Area! I love capturing the best in people and moments of shared experiences. I have been a Art, Drama, & Photography teacher for over 12 years, teaching the arts throughout Northern California public schools, Civic Arts in Walnut Creek, San Francisco Shakespeare Festival, Bay Area Children's Theatre, and privately. 2014 CLASS UPDATE BELOW!!!


LET'S PLAY! ART & DRAMA
~ EVERY FRIDAY from 10am-1pm ~

Come join us for a a fun themed Art & Drama day where play is important, creativity will be sparked, it's okay to get messy, friendships are made, and stories are imagined and created!

Each class begins with free art, then transitions into a focused project of the day, lunch/story time, open play, fun drama games, acting out a story, and ends with a popsicle with friends.

This class is open to kids ages 3-12.  Class size is limited.  Discounts if you enroll by the month...ask Tracy.  Visions Vendor!

2014 FALL CLASSES:

SEPTEMBER 5TH - LEGO ART!
What can YOU make with legos?!  We are all master builders with great ideas…let's have fun with lots of legos & some unusual art projects.  Can you paint with a lego?  Wanna design your own mini-figure?  Can you design your own lego set with instructions?  How do you draw a 3 dimensional lego?  How about making your own lego crayon?  Wanna take the Lego challenge?!

Cost is $50 and includes all supplies/materials, take home project and end of class all fruit popsicle.


SEPTEMBER 12TH - WEIRD SCIENCE!  EXPLOSIONS!!!
Let's get messy and wild as we explore explosions!  This is a wonderful way to experiment with science and art as we test out some chemical reactions and get messy with an exploding paint project!  Our imaginations will explode with more creativity as we play some physically engaging theatre games.  As always, we will end our time together with an all fruit popsicle with friends.

Cost is $50 and includes all supplies/materials, take home project and end of class all fruit popsicle.

SEPTEMBER 26TH -  WALDORF INSPIRED SERIES: MAKE YOUR OWN MANCALA MATH GAME
Mancala is an ancient family board game played around the world.  Let's make our own game board and learn how to play with friends!  Friends will pair up to take Tracy's Mancalla Challenge!  Let the fun begin!  Afterwards let's play some drama games and enjoy a homemade organic apple juice popsicle with friends.

Cost is $50 and includes handmade Mancala game, pieces, & instructions to take home.


OCTOBER 3RD - CELEBRATE WORLD ANIMAL DAY!  ANIMAL CLAY SCULPTURES
Let's celebrate World Animal Day by sharing our favorite animals!  This is a show and tell share day where kids can bring and share whatever they like about their favorite animal with friends.  The day will be filled with sharing, animal inspired clay sculptures, paintings, and fun animal themed drama games!

Cost is $50 and includes all supplies/materials, take home project and end of class all fruit popsicle.


OCTOBER 10TH -  WALDORF INSPIRED SERIES: MAKE YOUR OWN ABACUS
Ever wonder how to use a Abacus?  Curious how to use a hammer and hand drill?  Like to paint?  Let's do it all!  Next, students will team up to take Tracy's Abacus Challenge where they must work together with the skills they've learned to find a secret treasure!

Cost is $50 and includes all supplies/materials, take home project and end of class all fruit popsicle.






OCTOBER 17TH - FAMOUS ARTIST SERIES: SALVADOR DALI

Let's dive into the eccentric life of famous surrealist painter Salvador Dali!  Students will activate their own imaginations, as did Dali, to create works of art based on their own dream worlds.  Students will explore both Dali's eccentric life and examine his paintings.  Afterwards we will create our own dream play and act it out!  As always, we will end our day with a homemade organic popsicle.


Cost is $50 and includes all art supplies/materials and take home project.




OCTOBER 24TH - BUTTON ART


What can you make with a button?  We will explore this question as we create our own button doll character, sew a button, and explore painting with buttons!  Afterwards we will play theatre games and act out a story.  Kids will love ending the day with friends and a homemade organic apple juice popsicle.

OCTOBER 31ST - HALLOWEEN PROJECTS & GAMES!  Paint a Pumpkin, Decoupage a Lantern, & Fun Games!
Let's celebrate this fun day with painting a pumpkin and decoupaging a lantern families can use in the evening!  Afterwards we will be turning up our Halloween music for some fun theatre games! Students are encouraged to come wearing their favorite costume or choose one from our costume bin.  As always, our day will close with an all fruit popsicle and time with friends.

NOVEMBER 7TH - WALDORF SERIES: EMBROIDERY
Let's learn how to turn our own drawing into beautiful pieces of embroidered art!  Use your fine motor skills and create a family keepsake work of art!  Afterwards we will play theatre games and act out a story.  Kids will love ending the day with friends and a homemade organic apple juice popsicle.

Cost is $50 and includes all materials/supplies and take home embroidered project.






NOVEMBER 14TH - FAMOUS ARTIST SERIES: KEITH HARING

Let's explore the life and art of Keith Haring!  Bright colors and universally recognized simple, but profound characters are easy and fun for students to understand and connect to.  After getting to know Haring through a artist scavenger hunt, students will create their own inspired painting on canvas.  Keith Haring: The Political Line, which will open on November 8, 2014 at the de Young is a perfect fieldtrip extension to our exploration of Haring's work. This is the first American exhibition to assess the political dimension and scope of Keith Haring’s artistic concerns. Working across a variety of media, including subway drawings, paintings and sculptures, Haring (1958–1990) devoted himself to messages of social justice and change.  After immersing ourselves in Keith Harings work, join Tracy and friends for an optional fieldtrip to the De Young Museum on Wednesday, November 19th to view Haring's work first hand with friends.

NOVEMBER 21ST - GRATITUDE TABLE ART
Let's create a thoughtful and beautiful centerpiece for our family table in anticipation of Indigenous Peoples Day.  We will focus on the details of our lives that we are especially grateful for…taking time to think and acknowledge our lives with a one of a kind addition to our special meal.  Afterwards we will play theatre games and act out a story.  Kids will love ending the day with friends and a homemade organic apple juice popsicle.

JANUARY 2ND - WEIRD SCIENCE!  MAKE YOUR OWN PAINT

Science is fun when you can measure, mix, and create your own paint and use it right away!  Students will LOVE creating their unique colors, painting, and taking home their creations!  Let's start the New Year off with vibrant color and beautiful science.

Engineering FUNdamentals: Mine, Craft, Build using LEGO® Grades: 1- 5

Bring Minecraft to life using LEGO®! Build a motorized walking Creeper, a terrifying Ghast, and a motorized Minecart! This project-based camp, designed by Play-Well instructors, combines the basic format of our core engineering-themed programs based on the world of Minecraft. Students will explore real-world concepts in physics, engineering, and architecture while building their favorite Minecraft objects. Students will have a blast, even without any prior experience with Minecraft or LEGO.
