Hi, I'm Tracy and I'm a photographic storyteller in the Bay Area! I love capturing the best in people and moments of shared experiences. I have been a Art, Drama, & Photography teacher for over 12 years, teaching the arts throughout Northern California public schools, Civic Arts in Walnut Creek, San Francisco Shakespeare Festival, Bay Area Children's Theatre, and privately. LET'S PLAY! ART & DRAMA
~ EVERY FRIDAY from 10am-1pm ~



Come join us for a a fun themed Art & Drama day where play is important, creativity will be sparked, it's okay to get messy, friendships are made, and stories are imagined and created!

Each class begins with free art, then transitions into a focused project of the day, lunch/story time, open play, fun drama games, acting out a story, and ends with a popsicle with friends.

This class is open to kids ages 4-12.  Class size is limited.  Discounts AND added class time if you enroll by the month...ask Tracy.  Visions Vendor!

APRIL

JACKSON POLLOCK INSPIRED PAINT FILLED EGG SMASH ART!
Friday - April 1st from 10am-1pm (2pm for Members with extra hour of stay and play)

Wanna throw some eggs filled with paint at a blank canvas?  Yeah, me too!  Come and explore the simple pleasure and excitement of reckless messiness.  This is the one time and place where throwing paint is encouraged!  Afterwards let's go on a egg treasure hunt!  Kids will have to work together to find the hidden treasure.  Collaboration and teamwork are key as it will take everyone to complete this egg mission!  After lunch we will play improvisation games that encourage imagination and collaboration!  We will end class with our beloved organic apple juice popsicle with friends.

FAMOUS ARTIST:  MARC CHAGALL
Friday - April 8th from 10am-1pm (2pm for Members with extra hour of stay and play)

Let's get to know famous artist Marc Chagall!  Chagall pioneered modernism as a major Jewish artist. He experienced modernism's "golden age" in Paris, where "he synthesized the art forms of Cubism, Symbolism, and Fauvism, where the influence of Fauvism gave rise to Surrealism".  "When Matisse dies," Pablo Picasso remarked in the 1950s, "Chagall will be the only painter left who understands what colour really is".  We will notice some exciting similarities to Chagall and Picasso as we experiment with color, making our own inspired art.  One of the most rewarding aspects of learning about Chagall and other artists is the great deal of adversity they faced with the reward of grit they took advantage of to become successful in their artistic endeavors.  After lunch we will play improvisation games that encourage imagination and collaboration!  We will end class with our beloved organic apple juice popsicle with friends.

RAINBOW MATH WEAVING
Friday - April 15th from 10am-1pm (2pm for Members with extra hour of stay and play)

Let’s use some simple geometry added to beautiful natural yarns to weave up some cool math ideas found in nature by making our very own woven rainbow!  Students will be measuring, counting, cutting, weaving, and learning about patterns they can create with colors they choose.  From little to big hands, this project will take some time and patience, helping us practice our fine motor skills as well as learn a new way to meditate!  After lunch we will play improvisation games that encourage imagination and collaboration!  We will end class with our beloved organic apple juice popsicle with friends.

EARTH DAY AGAMOGRAPH & MORE!
Friday - April 22nd from 10am-1pm (2pm for Members with extra hour of stay and play)

Let’s celebrate the our beautiful planet Earth by using recycled materials to create one of a kind Agamograph artwork!  We will spend some time learning about contemporary artist Yaakov Agam who introduced the idea of kinetic movement and viewer participating into his polyphonic paintings in the 1950’s.  We will spend time discussing ways in which all of us can promote a healthy earth in simple ways as well as what we love about our planet.  After lunch we will play improvisation games that encourage imagination and collaboration!  We will end class with our beloved organic apple juice popsicle with friends.

MAGNETIC SLIME
Friday - April 29th from 10am-1pm (2pm for Members with extra hour of stay and play)

Do you love slime?  Ever made gak?!  How about…MAGNETIC SLIME!!!  Yes folks, you heard right…magnetic slime is all the rage and we are going to do some cool magnetic experiments with our slime and some extra magnets!  Get ready to create a new kind of polymer that you won’t want to stop playing with!  After lunch we will play improvisation games that encourage imagination and collaboration!  We will end class with our beloved organic apple juice popsicle with friends.

MAY

5/13 FAMOUS MUSICIANS TO CANVAS:  DUKE ELLINGTON 

Let's listen, move, and paint to the music of one of America's greatest composers, Duke Ellington!  We will be bringing out some fun percussive instruments to try out our own rhythms and express ourselves while learning about Ellington's two styles:  ragtime and blues.  As a kid Duke loved playing baseball and doing art, but didn't get into music until he was hit in the head by a baseball!  His Mom thought music would be safer and although he struggled through lessons, as a teenager he became so inspired that learning music was a necessity!  Duke and his bandmates often had a picture in mind of a story they were telling in their music and we will aim to paint our own stories to his music.  Drama games and popsicles will continue after lunch!

5/20  WALDORF INSPIRED: MAKE YOUR OWN CRITTER CREATURES

Bring your imagination as we invent and create a variety of nature inspired critter creatures!  Let's learn a little about the insect and critter world as we invent our own creature features!  Students will have to think outside the box to develop their own special creations.  Afterwards students will share creatures with one another and create a fun story with their creatures to act out!
Critter creature drama games and popsicles will continue the fun!

5/27 CARDBOARD CITY

Come all ye makers to a one of kind day as we use recycled materials and lots of cardboard to create a world beyond our own, making a cardboard city!  Let's think about what city planners have to consider when developing a new area.  We can build roads, we can build skyscrapers, we can build anything!?  But, wait...what about the trees?  What about parks?  How will we build a city together with all the things that matter to everyone in the group?  Students will exercise some critical thinking while working within small groups to decide what should be in their city and then build, build, build!  After lunch we will play improvisation games and enjoy popsicles together.

JUNE


6/3 FAMOUS ARTIST: CASSAT

Let's get inspired by one of the world's greatest female painters, Mary Cassatt!  Cassatt was well known for paintings and pastels of families and children.  But, she started out just like any other kid who liked art except that during her time people felt women weren't suppose to be artists!  Can you believe that?  Thank goodness Mary didn't give up!  She persevered and devoted her life to art and painted with love in a way few artists have ever been able to do.  Let's take out our canvases and experiment with pastels and paints just like Mary!  We will end our time together with improvisation games and popsicles.

6/10  PUPPET MAKING

Come one, come all to a truly silly day of puppet making!  Using photographs of students taken the week before, we will be creating one of a kind self-puppets that move!  Also on hand will be some coat hanger and feather boa puppets that students will bring to life using ping pong balls!  Using two beautiful puppet theatres, students will make up and act out their own stories with these silly puppets.  We will end our silly day with some silly drama games and popsicles.

6/17 FATHER’S DAY GIFT MAKING

Ssssshh!  It's Father's Day Art making and we have some surprises to create for all the Dad's and father figures in our lives.  But, alas, I cannot tell you what we're making...it wouldn't be a surprise.  Let's just say it will be a one of a kind keepsake that your children put their love into that you will want to keep for forever and ever.

6/24 MAKE YOUR OWN PINWHEEL!
There's nothing like blowing into a colorful pinwheel and watching it magically spin around.  Let's design and make our own fun pinwheels and learn a little bit about the geometry that goes into making these childhood delights.  We will end our day with good old fashioned games and popsicles.

Stop Motion & Claymation Makers
STOP MOTION & CLAYMATION MAKERS

June 27th - July 1st 2016 Monday-Friday from 10am-2pm

Location - Lafayette, CA
Ages 7-96

Calling all Movie Makers!  Do you love films like “Wallace & Gromit”, shows like “Plonsters”, and 

Join us as we explore making our very own Stop Motion Movies using low and high tech equipment!  Students will explore the various mediums they can manipulate to create Stop Motion projects such as: clay, legos, blocks, plus plus, paint, wire figurines, each other and many more!  This hands on class will get your budding film maker into action from day one, creating everything from claymating their name to one of a kind projects with friends, including Stop Motion Magic!  Our student ensemble of filmmakers will learn and be inspired by cutting edge film making and gain experience fleshing out their own ideas.  Our original films will be edited, layered with music and our own voice overs, even special effects using current Stop Motion Software.  It is amazing to watch these young artists create and bring to life their own creative inner worlds.  There will be a special Family & Friends Summer Movie Showing where everyone can reunite and kick back with some popcorn to enjoy their film!  Copies of the film on DVD and a CD of pictures taken during our artistic process will be made and included in the cost of class so that each child can have a keepsake memory of this special time.


Class will be held in Lafayette, CA.  

Students will need to bring a healthy lunch and water and wear clothes they can get dirty/paint on.

Movie Makers
SUMMER MOVIE MAKING!!!

July 18th - July29th Monday-Friday 10am-2pm

Location - Lafayette, CA 
Ages 5-95


Calling all movie makers!  Have you ever wanted to make and/or be in a movie?  

Come and join us for this new and exciting Summer Movie Making intensive! We will dream up and create from start to finish our own movie!  

Students will take on many roles throughout the week long process from creating a story, building a character, putting together costumes/props/set, learning ensemble building games that are fun and promote team building, and shooting a one of a kind original film like no other!  This is the "reel" deal!  

Movie Makers will become comfortable throughout the week with one another by having a variety of free art experiences, open play, and focused drama activities that will support the filming process.  This will be a unique experience for children of a variety of ages to learn from and assist one another in developing their own story.  At the end of the week we will have completed footage for a new film.  

There will be a special Family & Friends Summer Movie Showing where everyone can reunite and kick back with some popcorn to enjoy their film!  Copies of the film on DVD and a CD of pictures taken during our artistic process will be made and included in the cost of class so that each child can have a keepsake memory of this special time.
